ARTIST KIM JI HEE
Where security meets artistry -
becoming unmistakably yours from the
moment of possession.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Since gaining widespread recognition for her Sealed Smile series in 2008, Kim Ji Hee has showcased her work in over 400 exhibitions across leading galleries and art institutions worldwide—including Seoul, New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Miami, London, Cologne, Tokyo, Osaka, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, and Dubai. Her practice extends beyond gallery collaborations, engaging with global brands, museums, and prominent private collectors.

ABOUT ARTWORKS
Kim Ji-hee’s work explores the tension between opposing ideals—desire and existence, possession and absence, happiness and constructed fantasy—expressed through vibrant consumer iconography and her signature subtle, enigmatic smiles.
As her practice expands into the realm of spiritual animal imagery, her pieces reveal both an inner life force and a contemplative, reflective depth. Through these luminous creations, the artist invites viewers to contemplate the delicate interplay of desire, possession, and the essence of being.

The covers of past art textbooks have long featured the seminal works of figures who shaped modern and contemporary Korean art — artists such as Lee Jung-Seop and Kim Hwan-Ki. The inclusion of Kim Ji-Hee’s work stands as a natural extension of this lineage.
Created in 2020, Sealed Smile is a signature work rendered in vibrant colour on traditional Korean mulberry paper. At its centre is the image of a girl adorned with brightly hued, jewel-like glasses—an emblem through which the artist meditates on the shifting boundaries between desire and existence. The composition holds a quiet tension, inviting viewers to navigate the oscillation between longing and being that lies at the heart of Kim Ji-Hee’s practice.
